COD Men’s Golf takes 2nd place in Victorville

COD Men's Golf participated in their fifth Orange Empire Conference event, with 2 golfers snagging their second-best scores of the season.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to their ninth event of the 2025 season, continuing Orange Empire Conference play, which was hosted at the Bear Valley Country Club in Victorville by the Victor Valley Rams. Desert would finish with 376 points, putting them in 2nd place, 2-strokes ahead of the Cypress Chargers. The event was won by the Orange Coast Pirates of Costa Mesa.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners in Victorville was freshman Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen (SWE) Fredrika Bremergymnasiet) who dropped 3 strokes from his previous second-best at the RCC Invitational on 2/24 and shot a 1-over, 73. Joining Utter at 1-over was freshman Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert H.S.) for his third-best score of the season. Freshman Phar Vincent (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) tied his second-best score of the season, shooting a 3-over 75. Sophomore Jacob Stacey (Twentynine Palms H.S.) also shot his third-best score of the season, tying an effort at the MSJC Eagles Classic on 2/19 and shot a 4-over, 76. Freshman Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta H.S.) shot a 7-over 79 and Logan Marra (Palm Desert H.S.) wrapped up the event by shooting his third-best score of the season, shooting an 8-over, 80.

The next match for the Roadrunners will be on March 31st at 11a, where they will continue Orange Empire Conference play by traveling to Victoria Country Club in Riverside and hosted by the Riverside City Tigers.
