COD Men’s Golf Wraps Up Season with 6th Place Finish at 3C2A State Finals

College of the Desert Men's Golf capped off an impressive 2025 season with a strong showing at the 3C2A State Championship, finishing 6th overall and earning the program's best finish since 2016. The Roadrunners were led by freshman Mason Montgomery, who tied for 7th place individually.

The two-day championship event was hosted by Modesto Junior College at the challenging Bayonet Golf Club in Monterey. Four of the eight 2024 3C2A finalists returned for this year's tournament, including defending champions College of the Canyons, who successfully defended their title with a final score of 762. College of the Desert was one of two teams representing the Orange Empire Conference, finishing ahead of their OEC counterpart Orange Coast College by eight strokes.

* College of the Desert – 397 (Day 1) / 393 (Day 2) = 790 total (6th Place)

Top Roadrunner Performers

* Mason Montgomery (Fr., Palm Desert H.S.) posted a solid 7-over 79 on Day 1 and followed it up with a 2-over 74 on Day 2 for a total of 153, tying for 7th place individually.

Sinjin Armstrong (Fr., La Quinta H.S.) was consistent across both rounds, shooting 79 and 78 for a 157 total and 26th place.

Logan Marra (Fr., Palm Desert H.S.) recorded rounds of 80 and 78 for a 158 total, finishing 35th.

Phar Vincent (Fr., Xavier College Prep) started strong with a 78 on Day 1 but slipped to an 83 on Day 2 for a 161 total, tying for 45th.

Linus Rindestad Utter (Fr., Fredrika Bremergymnasiet, Sweden) shot 81-80 for a matching 161 total, also tied for 45th.

Jacob Stacey (So., Twentynine Palms H.S.) rounded out the team effort with scores of 83 and 85, finishing with a 168 total and tying for 60th place.
