Softball Falls 10-2 Against Imperial Valley

IMPERIAL, Calif. -- College of the Desert (0-2) softball fell 10-2 to Imperial Valley in their second game of the early season yesterday afternoon in Imperial.

The Lady Roadrunners scratched their first run across in game's second inning, on an RBI from sophomore first baseman Amanda Martinez (Indio HS).  She would finish with two hits, while center fielder Brianna Alcorn (Indio HS) went 1-2 with a triple and a run scored.

Freshman pitcher Angelika Cabanyog (Shadow Hills HS) started on the mound for COD, and allowed three earned runs on seven hits over three innings of duty.

College of the Desert travels to El Camino this Friday for two-day tournament.  They will open with Grossmont at 12 p.m.
