Women's Tennis Improves to 2-0 With Win Over Mt. San Antonio

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- College of the Desert women's tennis (2-0) continued its strong start to the 2016 season, as they opened their home schedule with a 5-4 victory over visiting Mt. San Antonio Tuesday afternoon in Palm Desert.

Lauren Joy (7-5, 6-3), Diana Cole (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Miyako Kinoshita (6-1, 6-1) earned singles victories for the Lady Roadrunners, while the duo of Kinoshita and Karen Rodas earned an 8-3 win in the first doubles competition.  With the match tied at 4-4, Linda Guerzize and Yu Yamada pulled out an 8-6 triumph in the final doubles matchup of the day, sealing the 5-4 win for COD.

College of the Desert returns to the courts Thursday afternoon when they travel to El Camino for a 2 p.m. match.
