COD (3-1) rolled in their reschedule match, grabbing two wins at the doubles and four at the singles, as the Roadrunners defeated the Southwestern Apaches of Chula Vista (1-5), 6-3.

The Roadrunners hosted Southwestern for the first time since March 28, 2019, back when both teams were in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference together. In doubles play, the 1's team of freshman Trinity Miller (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) and freshman Elyse Woodforde (Palm Desert H.S.) won easily, 8-2. The 3's team of freshman Liliana Ruiz (Thermal Coachella Valley) and freshman Oriana Ramirez (Indio H.S.) won a hard fought match, 8-5.

In singles play, wins were secured by Miller, Woodforde, freshman Zoe Lopez (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Mia Castillo (Indio H.S.).

The next contest for the Roadrunners will continue South Coast Conference (SCC) play by traveling to the El Camino Warriors of Torrance, on Tuesday, March 4, with the match beginning at 2p.

College of the Desert defeated Southwestern College, 6-3 in non-Conference play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
