COD had a runner participate in the first event of the 2024 season at Harry Griffin Park in La Mesa for the Cuyamaca Cross Country Kickoff, where the lone Desert participant finished in 29th place on the 3.5-kilometer course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in La Mesa was freshman Ana Lezama (La Quinta H.S.), collecting 29th place with a time of 17:05.

The next event for Desert is at the Golden West Central Park Classic at Central Park in Huntington Beach on September 20th at 9:30 a.m.
