COD Beach Volleyball to face Renegades to open SoCal Regionals on Friday

COD "One's" team of Ashtyn Lyneis and Nicole Svoboda will face off with the "Two's" team from the Bakersfield Renegades in the opening round of the CCCAA SoCal Regionals on Friday, May 4th.

The Roadrunners "One's" team are the only representatives for Desert at the SoCal Regionals and as a reward for being one of the top finishers in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) they were presented with the #25 seed. The PCAC was awarded ten spots in the SoCal Regionals and the Desert "One's" team finished seventh overall at the individual Conference Finals last Friday.

Lyneis, from Palm Springs H.S., and Svoboda, from La Quinta H.S., arrive in the post season with a 7-14 overall, head-to-head record, and a 4-9 PCAC head-to-head record.

In the opening round, the Roadrunners will take on the #8 seed, the Bakersfield Renegade "Two's" team of sophomore Alex Paris (Bakersfield Stockdale) and freshman Sarah Armendariz (Fresno Clovis West) which finished second overall in the Western State Conference.

The winner of this match-up will immediately play the winner of the #9 versus #24 matchup between the Long Beach City "One's" team and the Cypress "One's" team. Anyone who clears the "Round of 32" will become an automatic qualifier for the CCCAA Individual State Finals in Saratoga on the campus of West Valley Community College.
