COD (10-28; 8-14) opened up their final series of the 2017 season against the #10 team in California, the El Cajon Grossmont Griffins (27-7-1; 20-2), falling 8-0.

Sophomore designated hitter Jason Nall (Playa del Rey St. Bernard) went 2 for 4 and freshman third baseman Nicholas Follett (Toronto (ON) Bishop Allen Academy) also went 2 for 4 and clobbered a one out double to right in the bottom of the fourth, for the only extra-base hit of the afternoon for the Roadrunners.

Freshman right handed starting pitcher Robin Landazuri (Redlands H.S.) struck out two in five complete innings, surrendering six runs, all earned on nine hits, while walking four in his eighth loss of the season.
