COD Baseball falls to #3 Chargers, 20-1

COD (0-5) broke up a no hit bid and the shutout in the bottom of the sixth, but struggled to get any more runs across, as the Roadrunners fell to the #3 team in SoCal, the Cypress Chargers (2-2), 20-1.

The Roadrunners would get onto the board in the sixth when freshman short stop Nathanael Tiaga (Indio Shadow Hills) led off the inning with an infield single to the short stop. Then freshman first baseman Jonathan Mejia (Palm Desert H.S.) punched a one out single to center field and sophomore catcher Matthew Hernandez (Murrieta Valley) clobbered a single to left, scoring Tiaga.

Next home game for College of the Desert Baseball will be February 3rd at 2:30p, where they will wrap-up the 8th annual David Buttles Memorial Tournament by facing off with the Irvine Valley Lasers. Hope to see you there.
