COD Baseball: Follett signs letter with Rogers State

COD Baseball sophomore third-baseman Nick Follett (Toronto (ONT) Bishop Allen Academy) has signed a letter of intent with Rogers State University.

The 5-10 third baseman from Toronto Bishop Allen Academy finished tops on the team and 10th in Conference in batting average, hitting .422 over the course of the 40 game season. He had 16 multi-hit games on the season, with six 3-hit games and ten 2-hit games, connecting on an impressive six home runs. Playing "the hot corner" almost every game of the 40 game season, Follett finished the season with .929 fielding percentage. Follett had his best all-around offensive game at home against Imperial Valley on March 29th, when he went 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs scored. As a reward for all of his hard work, Follett was named first team all-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference his sophomore season.

The 2018 season was the first year for head coach Chris Walters as Desert ended the season with a record of 12-28 overall and 9-15 in Conference, finishing eighth.

Rogers State University is located in Claremore, Oklahoma which is about 30 miles northeast of the Tulsa, Oklahoma and about 75 miles west of the Arkansas-Missouri-Oklahoma border. The Rogers State Hillcats play their home games at the Diamond Sports Complex and the team is coached by 4th year veteran head coach, Chris Klimas. In 2017-18 season, the Hillcats concluded the year with a 26-24 overall record and a 12-16 record in Conference play, finishing sixth. The Hillcats are in the Heartland Athletic Conference (HC) of the NCAA Division II.
