COD Football is going bowling after knocking off the Rams in OT, 48-41

COD (6-4; 4-1) got into a heavyweight brawl to take a shot at their first bowl game since 2011, as each team traded scores, neither would relent, forcing the game into a crucial overtime period, where the home team would prevail over the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (6-4; 3-2), 48-41.

It is unclear at this moment the "where's" and the "when's" at this point, but what is clear is that Desert is going to a Bowl game and they are the co-Champions of the American Division-Mountain Conference, a shared title with Southwestern. As long as the team stays focused on "unfinished business" as they approach next Saturday's bowl game, the sky is the limit.

It was an exciting evening to say the least and neither team disappointed and the "double barreled" ground assault, turned into an air show as both freshman quarterback Darius Hulsey (Thermal Coachella Valley) and  freshman running back Kamone Best (Goldsboro (NC) Eastern Wayne) combined to go 22 for 35 for 235 yards and 4 scores. The ground game was still in full effect, as the Roadrunners offensive line was just as potent as they ever were, getting last week's Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, sophomore running back Anthony Ellison (Banning H.S.) almost 200 yards rushing, 194 yards to be exact, on 22 carries and two touchdowns on the night. Sophomore wide receiver Myles Goulbourne (Waterbury (CT) Crosby) was the leading target for both Best and Hulsey, as he pulled down 106 yards receiving and three scores on 10 catches.

The "D" in Desert once again stood for big Defensive plays, as freshman defensive end Romello Hamilton (Goldsboro (NC) Eastern Wayne) and sophomore defensive back Egypt Johnson (Chicago (IL) Brooks) combined to bring the pain to the Rams backfield, snagging four sacks for a loss of 31 total yards.
