COD Football chases off the Brahmas, 50-28

COD (3-1) had a balanced attack with 471 yards of total offense balanced between passing and rushing as well as a hungry defense which snagged five interceptions, as Desert pushed back the Los Angeles Pierce Brahmas of Woodland Hills (2-2) for their third win of the season, 50-28.

Desert collected their first win in Woodland Hills in program history (1-4-1) and their first win over the Brahmas since 2001 on Saturday night. Freshman running back Kannin Boswell from North Sevier H.S. in Salina, Utah, grabbed a season high 164 yards on 28 carries and a score and freshman corner Myron West from Legacy H.S. in North Las Vegas, Nevada, grabbed a season high 2 interceptions, the first of which led directly to a score in the first quarter and the second pick, wrapped up the third win of the season for the Roadrunners.

The next game for Desert is the 60th Annual Homecoming Game, where the Roadrunners will host the Los Angeles Southwest Cougars of West Adams on September 30 at 6p. Desert first faced off with the Cougars in 1971 and holds a 6-2 advantage in overall record over LA Southwest, with a 3-0 record in Palm Desert.
