COD Men’s Basketball: Wright signs letter with Houghton

COD Men's Basketball guard Andrew Wright (Beaumont H.S.) has signed a letter of intent with Houghton College.

The 6-3, 165 pound guard from one of America's best Basketball programs, Beaumont H.S., played a key role off of the bench for the Roadrunners, leaping off of the bench in 17 games for Desert, having his best game in the second round of the Mt. SAC Mountie Classic against the Imperial Valley Arabs on December 7th. In that game he would shoot a near perfect 4 for 5 from the field, including going 2 of 3 from beyond the arc and scoring a season high 10 points.

Houghton College is located in Caneadea, New York, which is about 60 miles southeast of Buffalo and about 35 miles north of the Pennsylvania-New York state line. The HC Highlanders play in the Nielsen Center and the team is coached by 2nd year head coach, Lance Westberg. During the 2019-20 season, the Highlanders were 3-11 in conference play finishing 7th, with an overall record of 5-20. HC is in the Empire 8 Conference of NCAA Division III.
