COD Men’s Golf finishes 12th at RCC Invitational

COD Men's Golf participated in their fourth event of the 2020 season, wrapping up the non-Conference portion of their schedule, as three Roadrunners finished with their second best rounds of 2020 and the team finished in 12th place out of 16 teams.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its fourth event, which was hosted at the par-72, Victor Country Club in Riverside. Desert would finish with 398 points, 35 strokes behind winner, College of the Canyons. Eleven out of the twelve teams in the Orange Coast Conference were in attendance at this event, including all six of the Inland Division teams.

Freshman John Kim, Jr. (Palm desert H.S.) would lead the way for the Roadrunners, tying his second best round of 2020, shooting a five-over 77.

Sophomore Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) nailed his second best score of 2020 with a seven-over 79, followed closely behind by sophomore Jordan Clark (Poway H.S.), who shot an eight-over 80 on the day.

Freshman Cameron Winslow (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Kwing Leung (Rancho Mirage H.S.), both shot a nine-over 81, closing the event for Desert. Leung's 81 was his second best finish of 2020 so far.

COD will make their next appearance at the Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville as the Roadrunners will open up Orange Empire Conference – Inland Division play on Monday, March 9.
