COD Men’s Golf: Kim crushes top spot, 3 Roadrunners shoot season best at Victorville

COD Men's Golf participated in their fifth event of the 2020 season, beginning Orange Empire Conference play, as three Roadrunners finished with their best rounds of 2020 and the team finished in 3rd place.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its fifth event, which was hosted at the par-72, Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville. Desert would finish with 387 points, 17 strokes behind winner, the Palomar Comets.

Freshman John Kim, Jr. (Palm desert H.S.) would lead the way for the Roadrunners, demolishing the field and grabbing a 3-under 69 for the day, shooting his best round of 2020 and winning tying for first place individually.

Sophomore Jordan Clark (Poway H.S.) shot a season best one-under, 71, good enough to finish in fourth place individually and freshman Kwing Leung (Rancho Mirage H.S.) tied his best round of 2020 with a 6-over, 78.

Sophomore Josh Lumgair (Calgary (AB) Calgary Academy) shot a 10-over 82 in his third appearance of the season and sophomore Bailey Spivak (Palm Desert H.S.) shot an 87.

Freshman Cameron Winslow (Palm Desert H.S.) shot a 93 to close out the event for Desert.

COD will make their next appearance at the Soboba Springs Golf Course in San Jacinto as the Roadrunners will continue Orange Empire Conference – Inland Division play on Monday, March 16.
