COD Men’s Golf grabs 2nd place finish in Chino

COD Men's Golf continued OEC-Inland Division play by collecting a 2nd place finish, with Tyler Cunningham-Watson snagging his best score of the season.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to twelfth event of the 2024 season, which was hosted at the El Prado Golf Course (Chino Creek Course) in Chino. Desert would finish with 381 points, putting them in 2nd place, 3-strokes ahead of the 3rd place Riverside City Tigers and 4-strokes behind the host Mt. San Antonio Mounties.

Leading the way for the Roadrunners in Chino was sophomore Tyler Cunningham-Watson (Palm Desert H.S.) who shot a season low, 1-over 73. Right on his heals was teammate sophomore Yuo Torii (Montverde (FL) Montverde Academy) who shot his third-best score of the season, a 2-over 74. Sophomore Ryln Hadley, Jr. (Palm Desert H.S.) shot a 5-over 77 and right behind him was sophomore Se Min Song (Haeundae-gu (KOR) Changwon Nam) who shot a 6-over 78. Freshman Jacob Stacey (Twentynine Palms H.S.) shot a 7-over 79 to wrap up the event for the Roadrunners. Freshman Jayson Bittner (Rancho Mirage H.S.) was disqualified.

The next match for the Roadrunners will be on April 15th at 11a, where they will participate in an Orange Empire Conference neutral event at Temecula Creek Golf Course in Temecula.
