Men's Soccer Ends Season With 3-3 Tie After Second Half Comeback

WHITTIER, Calif. - College of the Desert men's soccer earned a 3-3 tie in their final match of the 2015 season, battling back from a 3-0 deficit in the second half of Tuesday's Foothill Conference matchup with Rio Hondo in Whittier.

After some quality posession in the 57th minute, a through-ball from freshman Kosugi Masataka (Japan) found freshman Joao Leite Stefano (Sao Paolo, Brazil) who shot it in for the first Roadrunner goal.

In the game's 70th minute, a sequence of seven passes set up freshman Kevin Samperio's (Palm Desert, Ca/Palm Desert HS) shot from 10 yards out that beat the Rio Hondo goalkeeper.  Down 3-2 late in the game, Leite was taken down in the box while on the attack, earning a penalty kick for sophomore Brandon Teran; he converted, knotting the score at 3-3.

Freshman goalkeeper Jorge Sepulveda (Cathedraly City, CA/Cathedral City HS) was spectacular in net for the Roadrunners, making six impressive saves.

College of the Desert wraps up its 2015 season with a 3-15-1 record overall, while finishing 1-6-1 in the Foothill Conference.
