COD Men’s Soccer: Costagliola & Rosales sign to compete at four-year colleges

COD Men's Soccer midfielder Lucas Rosales (La Quinta H.S.) and defender Vincenzo Costaglolia (Palm Springs H.S.) have both signed their letters of intent with four-year colleges. Rosales to California State University, Los Angeles and Costaglolia to Hope International University.

Rosales, the 5-9, 140 midfielder from La Quinta H.S., started 14 of 19 games and finished the season with 19 points and sharing the team lead in goals (8) with Roadrunners forward Alejandro Pimentel (Thermal Desert Mirage). Rosales had multi goal games against Cuyamaca, on September 17 and Irvine Valley, on September 24, both contests were at home.

Costaglolia, the 6-2, 175 defender from Palm Springs H.S. was named second team all-IEAC, starting in all 19 games he played in and helped to hold five teams goalless, including key wins over Santa Ana and San Bernardino Valley. According to hiuroyals.com, HIU Men's Soccer head coach Joe Lurker stated about Costaglolia joining the Royals, "We had the pleasure of bringing in Vini in the spring of 2020 and had a little time to work with him before the University went online. He brings maturity and leadership to our back line with three more years of eligibility."

California State University, Los Angeles is located in the University Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. The CSULA Golden Eagles play at University Stadium and the team is coached by 17-year veteran head coach, Chris Chamides. During the 2019 season, the Golden Eagles were 10-0-1 in conference play, with an overall record of 19-1-3, finishing their season in the NCAA Division II Championship Game. CSULA is in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Hope International University is located in Fullerton, California. The HIU Royals play at OC Great Park in Irvine and the team is coached by 11-year veteran head coach, Joe Lurker. During the 2019 season, the Royals were 4-4 in conference play, with an overall record of 12-6. HIU is in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) of the NAIA.
