COD (7-0; 5-0) made quick work of another Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) opponent, grabbing their seventh straight win of 2022, pushing past the Imperial Valley Arabs (0-3; 0-2), 9-0.

In doubles play, the team of freshman Marco Alvarez (Chula Vista Eastlake) and freshman Matthew Shaw (Beverly Hills GED Testing Online) won easily, 8-0. The team of freshman Eita Ishikawa (Yokkaichi (JPN) Technical) and freshman John Dick (Newport Beach Corona del Mar) took down the Arabs, 8-0. The local team of sophomore Elvis Leon-Soriano (Indio Shadow Hills) and freshman Gerardo Dominguez (Thermal Coachella Valley) also won easily, 8-1.

In singles play, the only competitive match was in the five's, as Leon-Soriano won the first set easily, but had to fight back to win the second set (8) 7-6. Dominguez only allowed a single point in his dominate win against Imperial Valley, downing his Arab opponent in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1. Shaw, Ishikawa, Dick and freshman Ofek Ben Harosh (Misgav Am (ISR) Har Vagai) effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be on the road at the Victor Valley Rams of Victorville where they will continue Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) on March 1st at 2p. The next home match for the Roadrunners will be on March 15th at 2p, where they will continue IEAC play, hosting the San Diego City Knights.

College of the Desert defeated Imperial Valley College, 9-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
