COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 6th at Coach Downey Classic

COD ran in their fourth event of the 2018 season at Morley Field Sports Complex – Balboa Park in San Diego for the Coach Jerry Downey Cross Country Classic, where the team finished 6th overall on the 4-mile course.

The Roadrunners finished with 128 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in San Diego was sophomore Christian Cardoza (Cathedral City H.S.), collecting an 18th place finish and a time of 25:44.

Freshman Bronn Olson (Palm Desert H.S.) finished 24th, collecting a time of 26:51, dropping his previous best by 90 seconds and freshman Joseph Oropeza (Rancho Mirage H.S.) crossed the finish line at 27:33, well enough for 27th place.

Freshman Andrew Limon (Indio Shadow Hills) wrapped up a 29th place finish with a time of 28:35, and right on Limon's heels was freshman Bryan Hinojosa (Indio H.S.), who wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 28:43, dropping 71 seconds from his previous best of 2018, finishing in 30th place.

Sophomore Miguel Espinola (Palm Desert H.S.) and freshman Guillermo Blanco (Rancho Mirage H.S.) finished 35th and 38th respectively for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
