COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 3rd at IEAC Championship

Desert wrapped up October with their final event of the regular season at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga for the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Championship where the team finished 3rd.

The Roadrunners finished with 69 points and crossing the line first for Desert was freshman Leonel Benitez (La Quinta Summit) in 12th place, with a time of 23:24.7.

Right behind Benitez was freshman Dominick Jahnig (La Quinta, H.S.) who finished the race in 13th place, with a time of 23:27.5 and sophomore David Hernandez (La Quinta, H.S.) who crossed the line in 14th place, with a time 23:58.4.

Freshman Ezequiel Alvarez (Thermal Coachella Valley) crossed the line in 18th place, with a time of 26:44.1. Freshman Esahi Bravo (Indio H.S.) finished the race in 19th place, with a time of 27:12.7 and    sophomore Joseph Oropeza (Rancho Mirage H.S.) finished with a time of 27:29.2.

Sophomore Bronn Olson (Palm Desert H.S.) crossed the line with a time of 27:31.4 and freshman Albert Salomon (Rancho Mirage H.S.) finished with a time of 27:54.4.

Wrapping up the race for the Roadrunners was freshman Sebastian Melendres (Palm Desert H.S.) with a time of 30:44.8 and sophomore Guillermo Blanco (Rancho Mirage H.S.) with a time of 34:45.1.
