PALM DESERT, Calif. -- College of the Desert softball (2-10-1) fell 10-0 (6 innings) against visiting Santa Ana (5-7) Friday afternoon in Palm Desert.
Sophomore Kalen Gopperton (Cajon HS) went 1-3 with a double, while fellow sophomores Jolene Ruiz (Indio, CA) and Taylor Stone (Palm Desert HS) also collected one hit. Sophomore Yizel Nunez (Beaumont HS) pitched all six innings for the Lady Roadrunners, allowing six earned runs on 13 hits.
College of the Desert will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for a pair of home games against Golden West and San Diego. First pitch of the opener is set for 10 a.m.
