COD (3-20; 1-9) fell behind early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third, receiving some good production from their three-four hitters in a 5 inning loss to the Imperial Valley Arabs, 18-2.

Sophomore short stop Taylor Stone (Palm Desert H.S.) and sophomore center fielder Malissa Nielsen (Palm Desert H.S.) both went 2 for 3 on the afternoon. Nielsen hit a triple to right field in the bottom of the third and grabbed a run batted in and Stone scored a run and collected an RBI.

The Arabs would score two runs in the top of the first, three runs in the top of the second and five more runs in the top of the third to give Imperial Valley a 10-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, Desert would plate two runs when freshman right fielder Saki Hirata (Tokushima (Japan) Joto) would lead off the inning with a single to right. Freshman second baseman Jada Toland (Indio Shadow Hills) then reached on a one out fielder's choice and would head home on a two out single to center by Stone. The Nielsen triple would score Stone from first to narrow the Arabs lead to, 10-2.
