TORRANCE, Calif. - Freshman guard Reina West's (San Jacinto, CA/San Jacinto HS) team-high 14 points were not enough as College of the Desert (5-5) suffered an 81-59 defeat while visiting El Camino (4-2) Tuesday evening in Torrance.
West shot 6-9 (66.7 percent) from the field, while adding four steals and two assists. Sophomore guard Leslie Segovia (Palm Desert, CA/Palm Desert HS) scored nine points and had three steals in 16 minutes off the bench, while freshman center Ashley Preist (Yucca Valley, CA/Yucca Valley HS) also scored nine points to go along with five rebounds.
The Lady Roadrunners shot 24-58 (41.1 percent) from the field, and collected 34 rebounds. As a team, they also totaled 14 steals and 13 assists.
College of the Desert travels to Cuesta this weekend to compete in their tournament.
