Jada Toland is working her first year in the California Community College Athletic Association as an assistant coach for women’s basketball at College of the Desert. Toland’s résumé includes work and volunteering at local high schools and recreational centers as a mentor and assistant to women’s basketball teams. Toland grew up in Indio, CA and attended Shadow Hills High School where she was awarded a number of academic and athletic awards throughout her four years including being named the 2015, 2016 De Anza League Honorable Mention, 2016 Citrus Belt Area Senior Female Athlete of the Year and where she was awarded the Golden State Merit Diploma. After high school, Jada attended College of the Desert and played softball and basketball where she was awarded the 2018 Academic All-State Team award for softball, Graduated with Academic Distinction for maintaining an above 3.5gpa and made 2018 All Conference for both Basketball and Softball. After completing her Associates in Liberal Arts, Jada attended the University of La Verne and played basketball in 2018-2019 where she was awarded as a scholar athlete for maintaining an above 3.5gpa for the first semester. Aside from coaching basketball at College of the Desert, Jada works at a sports apparel store along with coaching at Xavier College Preparatory High School as an assistant coach for women's basketball. Jada lives happily with her four-year-old daughter in Cathedral City.
