COD Women's Golf takes 3rd place finish in 3rd OEC event of 2021

COD Women's Golf finished 3rd as two golfers set their season best as sophomore Lehapi Veikune Taungahihifo (Rancho Mirage H.S.) led the way with a 78.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its fourth event. Desert traveled to their third Orange Empire Conference (OEC) event of the season, this time the event was at the par-72 Costa Mesa Country Club (Mesa Linda Course) in Costa Mesa.

Desert would finish with 353 points, which was 19 strokes ahead of fourth place finisher, Cuyamaca. Saddleback would win the event with 318 points.

Taungahihifo led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting her second best score of the season with a six-over 78 and freshman Demi Preece (Imperial H.S.) as well shot her second best score of the season, shooting an 83.

Freshman Yvonne Pretorius (La Quinta H.S.) shot her season low with a 92 and freshman Natalie LeBeau (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) shot her second best score of the season, grabbing a score of 100.

Freshman Mayra Acosta (Thermal Desert Mirage) also shot her season low, with a score of 106 and freshman Daneah Jackson (Cathedral City H.S.) shot a 123.

COD will make their next appearance at Menifee Lakes Country Club in Menifee on Wednesday, October 6 as they continue OEC play.
