COD Women's Golf takes 3rd place at Menifee Lakes

COD Women's Golf finished 3rd with sophomore Lehapi Veikune Taungahihifo (Rancho Mirage H.S.) leading the way with a 78.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its fifth event. Desert traveled to their fourth Orange Empire Conference (OEC) event of the season, this time the event was at the Menifee Lakes Country Club in Menifee.

Desert would finish with 368 points, which was 8 strokes ahead of fourth place finisher, Cuyamaca. Saddleback would win the event with 328 points.

Taungahihifo led the way for the Roadrunners, tying her second best score of the season with a six-over 78 and freshman Demi Preece (Imperial H.S.) as well shot her second best score of the season, shooting an 82.

Freshman Yvonne Pretorius (La Quinta H.S.) also shot her second best of the season a 96 and freshman Natalie LeBeau (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) grabbed a score of 118.

Freshman Mayra Acosta (Thermal Desert Mirage) tied her second best of the season with a 112 and freshman Daneah Jackson (Cathedral City H.S.) shot her second best of the season with a 113.

COD will make their next appearance at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (Oak Glen Course) in El Cajon on Monday, October 11 as they continue OEC play.
