COD Women's Golf takes 4th place at Singing Hills

COD Women's Golf finished 4th with sophomore Lehapi Veikune Taungahihifo (Rancho Mirage H.S.) leading the way with an 80, finishing second individually.

The Roadrunners sent five participants to its sixth event, a super windy and tough day on the course for all who participated. Desert traveled to their fifth Orange Empire Conference (OEC) event of the season, this time the event was at the Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (Oak Glen Course) in El Cajon.

Desert would finish with 378 points, which was 12 strokes ahead of fifth place finisher, Mt. San Antonio. Saddleback would win the event with 324 points.

Taungahihifo led the way for the Roadrunners, with her third-best score of the season with an eight-over 80 and freshman Demi Preece (Imperial H.S.) shot an 89.

Freshman Yvonne Pretorius (La Quinta H.S.) also shot her third best of the season a 102 and freshman Daneah Jackson (Cathedral City H.S.) shot her third best of the season with a 107.

Freshman Mayra Acosta (Thermal Desert Mirage) shot a 124.

COD will make their next appearance at Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton on Monday, October 18 as they continue OEC play.
