COD Women's Golf takes 2nd place at Coyote Hills

COD Women's Golf finished with their best finish of 2021 and freshman Yvonne Pretorius (La Quinta H.S.) grabbing her second-best finish of the season, as the Roadrunners snagged a 2nd place finish.

The Roadrunners sent six participants to its seventh event, as Desert traveled to their sixth Orange Empire Conference (OEC) event of the season, this time the event was at the Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton.

Desert would finish with 377 points, which was one stroke ahead of third place finisher, Orange Coast College. Saddleback would win the event with 339 points.

Sophomore Lehapi Veikune Taungahihifo (Rancho Mirage H.S.) once again led the way for the Roadrunners, with an 82, which was good enough for 3rd place individually and freshman Demi Preece (Imperial H.S.) shot a strong 89.

Pretorius shot her second-best of the season, a 94 and freshman Natalie LeBeau (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) grabbed a score of 112.

Freshman Daneah Jackson (Cathedral City H.S.) shot a 123 and freshman Mayra Acosta (Thermal Desert Mirage) shot a 126.

COD will make their next appearance at El Prado Golf Course (Chino Creek Course) in Chino on Wednesday, October 20 as they continue OEC play.
