COD Women’s Golf plays in 6th OEC event, team finishes 3rd

COD Women's Golf played in their sixth Conference match finishing 3rd with sophomore Samantha Miller (Valley Center H.S.) tying her best score and sophomore Jensen Kelly (Imperial (SK) School) grabbing her second-best season score of the season.

The Roadrunners sent four participants to the seventh event of the season. The event held in El Cajon at the par-72 Cottonwood Golf Course reached a mostly cloudy high of 75. Desert would finish third with 344 points which was 17 strokes ahead of fourth place finisher, Saddleback. The Mt. San Antonio Mounties of Walnut would win the event with 316 points.

Sophomore Lehapi Veikune Taungahihifo (Rancho Mirage H.S.) led the way for the Roadrunners, shooting a 6-over 78, finishing third individually. Kelly collected her second-best score of the season, shooting an 83, followed by freshman Kayla Speer (Yucaipa H.S.), who shot an 87 and sophomore Samantha Miller (Valley Center H.S.) wrapped up the later afternoon for the Roadrunners, tying her best score of the season, a 96.
