COD Women’s Soccer: Castillo signs letter with Kansas Wesleyan

COD Women's Soccer forward Jasmine Castillo (Indio Shadow Hills) has signed a letter of intent with Kansas Wesleyan University.

Castillo, from Shadow Hills H.S. in Indio, was named First Team All-IEAC, leading the team with 15 goals and finished 27th in the state in goals scored. The 5-foot-tall sophomore was a force to be reckoned with on the field as she had five game winning goals, five multi-goal games, including having both goals, in a 2-1 win over San Bernardino Valley on October 8.

Kansas Wesleyan University is located in Salina, Kansas, which is about 85 miles north of Wichita and about 180 miles west of Kansas City, Missouri. The KWU Coyotes play in the Graves Family Sports Complex and the team is coached by head coach, Henrik Sohn, in his 3rd year with the Coyotes. In the 2021 season, the Coyotes concluded the year with a 11-7-2 overall record, with a 7-3-2 record in Conference play, finishing the season in the Semifinals of the Conference Tournament. KWU is in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference of NAIA.
