COD Women’s Tennis grabs #4 spot in final ITA rankings

COD Women's Tennis grabbed the #4 spot in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) CCCAA Women's National Rankings.

According to the wearecollegetennis.com website, "The ITA Collegiate Tennis CCCAA Women's National Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point were released for the 2022 spring season. The National Rankings include the Top-20 teams, Top-50 singles players, and Top-25 doubles teams from across the CCCAA."

The Roadrunners team finished the 2022 season in the Regional Finals, falling to the eventual CCCAA State Champion, El Camino Warriors of Torrance, but several individual players and doubles teams participated deep into their respective State Championship brackets.

As a result, freshman Shekinah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) was ranked #4 and her sister, freshman Emunah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) was ranked #10 in the final ITA CCCAA Women's National Rankings. Freshman Agustina Berrondo (Tucumán (ARG) Institute Hermanas Esclavas) also made the Top-50 singles list, securing a #45 ranking.

In the Top-25 doubles teams list, the team of Shekinah Daffon and freshman Antonella Mazzotti (Rancho Mirage H.S.) snagged a #5 ranking and right on their heels was the team of Berrondo and Emunah Daffon, who were ranked #6.
