Sandy, from La Quinta H.S., was named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Player of the Year her sophomore season. She would start 22 of 24 matches for the Roadrunners, leading Desert in multiple statistical categories. Sandy also finished in the top-10 in the State in kills (314), kills per set (4.58) and points per set (5.3). Her best match was on September 23, 2022, where Sandy had 23 kills and 19 digs in a 3-2 win at home over the East Los Angeles Huskies. In her freshman season, Sandy was named First team All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference, as the Roadrunners competed in their first season since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. She would start all 20 matches for the Roadrunners, and once again, finish in the top-10 in the State in kills (328), kills per set (4.43) and points per set (5.2).

"During my time at COD, it really gave me more of a better opportunity to continue the sport that I love, especially coming out of high school with the pandemic." Sandy continued, "Coming here to COD gave me some extra time to build my skill up, so I can later commit it down the way, which I've got to say that I committed to Post University in Connecticut."

Later, Sandy explained why she chose Post, "Post is a really great school. I visited there a couple weeks ago and it was a great environment. I could totally see myself adapting to, but more than anything, I'm so excited for the sport that I'm going to continue to play. And I can't wait to see what's to come."

Post University is located in Waterbury, Connecticut, which is about 30 miles southwest of Hartford and about 95 miles northeast of New York City. The Post Eagles play in the Drubner "Drub" Center and the team is coached by Tiffany Verni, in her 2nd year with the Eagles. In the 2022 season, the Eagles concluded the year with a 10-20 overall record, with an 8-10 record in Conference play, finishing the season in 4th place. Post is in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference – North Division of NCAA Division 2.
