COD had one runner participate in the second event of the 2021 season at Morley Field in San Diego for the Coach Downey XC Classic, where she finished in 27th place on the 5 kilometer course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in San Diego was freshman Heather Hinton (La Quinta H.S.), collecting 27th place with a time of 24:25.

The next event for Desert is at the San Diego Mesa Invite at NTC Park in Liberty Station in San Diego on October 1st at 10 a.m.
