COD had two runners participate in the first event of the 2023 season at Ted Craig Regional Park in Brea for the Biola University Invite, where Desert participants finished in 90th and 91st place on the 5-kilometer course.

Grabbing the top spot for Desert in Brea was freshman Abigail Yanez (Banning H.S.), collecting 90th place with a time of 38:03.2.

Finishing close behind was freshman Alma Guerrero (Cathedral City H.S.), collecting 91st place with a time of 42:23.3.

The next event for Desert is at the SoCal Preview Meet at El Dorado East Regional Park in Long Beach on September 15th at 10 a.m.
