Under fifth-year head coach Jack Steptoe, Desert finished the regular season with a record 4-6 overall and 2-3 in conference. The team was bestowed with four first team All-Mountain Conference honors and four second team All-Mountain Conference honors.
COD Football falls in Palms-To-Pines overtime to the Eagles, 41-34

COD (4-5; 2-2) took an early lead, but in the 51st Palms-To-Pines Trophy game, anything can happen and the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (7-2; 2-2) scored 20 unanswered points to close out the game as the Roadrunners fell in overtime, 41-34.

COD (4-4; 2-1) moved back to .500 on the season as the team marked the 60th Homecoming game with another defense performance, holding the Victor Valley Rams of Victorville (2-6; 0-3) to only 32 yards rushing in a Roadrunners win, 38-22.
COD Football shuts out Marauders for first time in program history, 12-0

COD (3-4; 1-1) had a defensive night to remember as they went on the road and held the Antelope Valley Marauders of Lancaster (2-5; 0-2) to 185 yards in total offense, including only 73 yards passing keeping the Marauders scoreless for the first time in program history, 12-0.
COD Football grabs five interceptions, as defense shuts down the Seahawks, 25-14

COD (2-3) wanted to close out their non-Conference schedule on a good note and their defense stepped up to the task as they held the LA Harbor Seahawks of Wilmington (2-4), to 34 rushing yards and grabbed five interceptions in a 25-14 win.
COD Football: Penalties harm chances in close loss to the Brahmas, 44-43

COD (1-3) had to come from behind early, eventually taking a lead early in the second half, but over 200 yards in penalties hurt the Roadrunners chances in a close contest, as the LA Pierce Brahmas (2-3) snuck out of the Desert with a one point win, 44-43.

COD (1-2) opened up their 2018 home opener with an 80 yard touchdown pass, but after tying the game at 17-17, the game started to go sideways for the Roadrunners, who fell to the Cerritos Falcons (3-0), 65-35.

COD (0-1) had an opportunity to do something the Roadrunners had never done before, win at the Pasadena City Lancers (1-0), and with a high flying passing attack it almost happened, but late 4th quarter 4th down conversion would prove to be the difference as Desert fell, 42-38.
